How we built five days for adventure lovers
Most Rovaniemi itineraries are designed so nobody gets too cold or too tired. This one is not. It is for people who would rather spend a day hiking to frozen waterfalls than queueing at a souvenir shop, who want hours on a snowmobile rather than a quick loop, and who are happy to stay out half the night chasing the aurora. Joona, as a Finn who has spent years around Lapland tourism, still thinks the wild days are the best ones this region has to offer.

Day 3 — Korouoma Frozen Waterfalls Hike

Keep the plan flexible. Adventure tours depend on the weather more than any others. Snowmobile and husky tours can be cancelled or rescheduled in extreme cold, the husky run can be shortened and guide-driven in bad conditions, and Korouoma may be cancelled in extreme weather. That is exactly why the hardest days are in the middle of the trip: if one moves, you still have a day on either side to slot it back in.
