PRACTICAL INFO

Know before you go

Getting around

Excellent rail networks (TGV, Thalys, ICE) connect major cities in hours. Renting a car is ideal for countryside detours. Budget airlines link smaller cities.

Currency & costs

All five countries use the Euro (€). Costs vary — France and the Netherlands are pricier; Belgium, Germany, and Luxembourg sit in the mid-range. Cards widely accepted.

Language tips

French, Dutch, German, and Luxembourgish are the main languages. English is widely understood in tourist areas. A simple "bonjour" or "danke" goes a long way.

Western Europe taught us that you do not need to go far to feel like you have travelled to another world — just cross one more border.
