Getting around
Both countries are compact. Tallinn–Riga is a 4.5-hour bus ride. Local buses and trains connect major towns; car rental opens up coastal and rural areas.
Currency & costs
Estonia and Latvia use the Euro (€). Costs are moderate — lower than Scandinavia, slightly above Central Europe. Card payments accepted almost everywhere.
Language tips
Estonian and Latvian are the official languages. English is widely spoken in cities, especially by younger generations. A few local phrases always earn smiles.
