Wedding Night and Honeymoon Styling in Rovaniemi: Rose Petals, Cabin Florals and a Dinner Waiting for You

The wedding ends, the guests leave and then what? The first night of a marriage deserves a little care, and in Lapland a styled suite, a cabin full of flowers or a private dinner can be arranged without you lifting a finger. We offer this through our own company, Rovaniemi Weddings, and here is what the options look like, what they cost and how to book them.

You can have your wedding night suite or honeymoon cabin styled in Rovaniemi before you arrive: rose petals, flowers, candles and a bottle on ice. Our room surprise A Thousand Petals starts from €700 (rose petals, a bouquet of 70 roses on the bed, 15 heart-shaped balloons, sparkling wine, set-up within 30 km of Rovaniemi city centre), and Right Where You Are (from €650) styles a setting at your own cabin or hotel. We also coordinate the step from wedding to honeymoon, see Honeymoon in Lapland and Weddings, and write back within one business day through Contact Rovaniemi Weddings. Why the Wedding Night Deserves a Plan

Most couples spend months on the ceremony and almost no time on what happens after the last guest leaves. In Lapland that matters more than elsewhere. It may be late, it may be −20 °C, you may have been outdoors for hours, and the last thing you want is to open the door of a cold, unprepared room and start unpacking.

A small amount of planning changes the whole feeling. Someone has been in the suite before you: the lights are low, there is warmth, there are flowers and candles and something cold to drink. You walk in and the day is allowed to end gently. That is the idea, and it is not an expensive one.

It also works when there has been no wedding at all. Anniversaries, honeymoons and ordinary special evenings are all good reasons. Our post on an anniversary surprise in Rovaniemi shows what we can set up for couples who are already married.

Option One: The Room Surprise

A Thousand Petals is the simplest and the most romantic. You open the door and the room is ready: a path of rose petals, a bouquet of seventy roses waiting on the bed, fifteen heart-shaped balloons floating at the ceiling and a bottle on ice. No audience and no rush. It starts from €700, and the price includes organisation, planning and coordination, set-up within 30 km of Rovaniemi city centre and complimentary sparkling wine.

You can add a professional photographer who captures the moment you open the door, followed by couple photographs, a videographer, more balloons or more flowers, or a location further than 30 km. We would add the photographer first if you want the moment on record, though many couples prefer the room to stay private.

The option was designed as a proposal setting, but it works equally well for a wedding night, a honeymoon arrival or an anniversary, whether you are already married or not. For the proposal version, read a proposal in your cabin or hotel room.

Option Two: A Styled Cabin or Suite

If you want something more tailored, Right Where You Are (from €650) brings a styled setting to the cabin, villa or hotel where you are staying: inside your room or cabin, on the terrace or in the garden. It includes organisation, décor at your accommodation, delivery and set-up within 30 km of Rovaniemi, a bouquet of 30 roses and sparkling wine. The price depends on the complexity of the décor, and the option requires the property’s agreement, which we arrange.

For honeymoon styling more broadly, we offer cabin florals, romantic dinners and coordination between wedding and honeymoon. That can mean flowers waiting in the cabin where you stay after the wedding, a styled dinner at a chosen venue, and a smooth handover from the wedding day to the days that follow.

Venues that suit it include Aurora Hill Resort, where handcrafted glass-fronted cabins on Rovaniemi’s highest hill have beds turned towards the northern sky, and Invisible Forest Lodge, where each suite has a glass wall onto the forest. Both are used for styled wedding-night suites and in-suite surprises.

Option Three: A Private Dinner

A dinner is a very good way to close a wedding day, especially if the reception was large and you barely sat down. Dinner in the Glass Dome (from €1,450) at Invisible Forest Lodge gives you a private three-course dinner in a glowing glass dome in the forest, with a welcome drink. The option was designed as a proposal, and if you are already married, you can simply enjoy the dinner and the setting, with the photographer capturing the evening. Domes are limited to keep the setting private, so ask early.

A dinner cooked over the fire at the laavu can be arranged as an add-on to The Fireside Proposal (from €1,400), and private dinners at the resorts we plan weddings at can be arranged on request. Our posts on a proposal dinner in Rovaniemi and a glass dome dinner show the settings.

Wedding to Honeymoon: The Handover

One of the most useful things we do is the handover. After a wedding in Lapland, you often move: from the venue to a cabin, from the cabin to a glass igloo, or to the airport. Having someone coordinate the luggage, the transport, the check-in and the surprises takes pressure off a tired couple.

Typically, we agree the plan weeks before. We confirm the next property, arrange for the room to be styled, organise transport, and check opening hours of restaurants and activities. If you are flying onwards, we plan the timing so that you do not spend the morning after your wedding rushing. Our post on honeymoon in Lapland gives the bigger picture, and honeymoon in Rovaniemi in December and in February cover the seasons.

What a Lapland Honeymoon Looks Like

A Lapland honeymoon is slow by design. Typical winter temperatures are between −10 and −20 °C, and activities include a private northern lights chase, a husky safari, reindeer sleigh rides, a lakeside sauna, ice floating in a dry suit and a visit to Santa Claus Village. Accommodation ranges from glass igloos and aurora cabins to wilderness cabins with a sauna and fireplace, Arctic resorts with a spa and boutique hotels in Rovaniemi. In summer, from June to August, it is 15–25 °C with hiking, river cruises and berry picking, and the midnight sun lights the night.

The northern lights run from September to March, and it is wise to book glass igloos and northern lights tours well ahead for December to February. Finland is in the EU and Schengen, and citizens of the US, Canada, the UK and Australia can visit visa-free for up to 90 days. Rovaniemi Airport has direct flights from Helsinki.

For a couple who just married, we suggest fewer activities than you think. One memorable evening each day is enough.

A Sample Wedding Night, Step by Step

A typical evening, if you choose the room surprise after a winter wedding, goes like this. During the reception, with your agreement, a member of our team goes to your accommodation, using the access arranged with the property. The room is styled while you are still dancing: petals along the path, the bouquet on the bed, balloons at the ceiling, the bottle on ice, low lights. The team leaves no trace of the work and nothing is moved afterwards. When you arrive, the room is warm, and the only thing you need to do is open the door.

If you have asked for a photographer, they wait outside and capture the first look, then leave. If you have not, the evening belongs to the two of you. In the morning, breakfast is whatever the property offers; if you want a slow start, tell us and we can ask the property about a late breakfast or a breakfast in the room, subject to what they provide.

The same shape works for an arrival at the start of a honeymoon. Many couples have the room prepared before they arrive after a long journey, which turns the first minutes in a new place into a small celebration. We agree the details by message, keep everything between us and you, and never contact your partner. If the surprise is for them, we are quiet in every sense.

Accommodation is separate: guesthouses typically cost €80–€150 per night, and glass igloos and resort suites €300–€800. Flights from European cities are typically €150–€500 per person return, according to the published cost guide. Our post on how much a proposal in Lapland costs lists every price of the room and setting options.

Practical Notes: Access, Timing and Taste

Three practical points make the difference between a nice idea and a smooth one. First, access: styling a room means someone has to enter it, so the property needs to agree and to arrange access. We handle that conversation, but you should check your booking conditions and tell us the name of the property early. Second, timing: if the wedding runs late, the setting waits, and if the wedding finishes early, we can adjust. Tell us the rough plan and we will check with you on the day. Third, taste: some people love balloons and some do not. Tell us what you like, and we will adjust, from a classic rose-petal scene to something quieter with candles and a single bouquet.

Fresh petals on a warm floor are lovely, and flowers wait indoors where it is warm, so the cold is not an issue for a room. Outdoor setups on a terrace or in a garden are possible, with the usual care for winter conditions, and we will tell you honestly if an idea will not survive the cold.

Planning It With Us

  1. Tell us your plans: where you will stay, when you arrive, and what you want it to feel like.
  2. Option and quote: a clear quote with your date held.
  3. Quiet preparation: flowers, candles, transport and the property’s agreement.
  4. The evening: the room is ready when you arrive.

FAQ

Can you style our room after the wedding?

Yes. Right Where You Are, from €650, styles a setting at your cabin or hotel, and A Thousand Petals, from €700, prepares a room with petals, 70 roses and heart balloons. Both need the property’s agreement, which we arrange.

Do you travel outside Rovaniemi for honeymoon styling?

Setup within 30 km of Rovaniemi city centre is included in the room options; locations further away, including the rest of the Nordics, can be arranged.

Can we add a photographer?

Yes. A professional photographer is an add-on to A Thousand Petals and Right Where You Are, and is included in the dome dinner.

Is this only for newlyweds?

No. The options also suit anniversaries, birthdays and special evenings, whether or not you are married.

How far ahead should we book?

The earlier the better, because your date is more likely to be free. Last-minute requests are taken if the date is available.

Will anyone contact my partner?

Never. We communicate only with you, on the channel you choose.

Our Honest Final Word

The wedding night is a small thing that makes the day feel complete. A prepared room, a bottle on ice and flowers on the bed take half an hour to arrange and none of your energy. We think it is one of the best-value parts of what we do, and since Rovaniemi Weddings is our own company we are happy to say so openly.

If you are already planning a wedding with us, add it to the plan. If you are not, A Thousand Petals and Right Where You Are can be booked on their own. Browse Weddings, read about Honeymoon in Lapland, and write to us through Contact Rovaniemi Weddings.
