Las Vegas is one of the best places in the United States to pick up an RV: the airport is easy, the desert national parks are all within a day’s drive and the winter weather in the Southwest is exactly what a lot of people are escaping to. The catch is that prices swing a lot through the year, and the headline daily rate is rarely the whole story.
We live in Rovaniemi, so this is a researched guide, not a trip report. The figures below come from CampervanPlanet’s own price study for Las Vegas, which it published in November 2026, and we have reread them against what the live listings show. Start with the Las Vegas RV rental prices page if you want to see the full tables yourself.
A typical RV from Las Vegas costs about $106 a day from November to March and $191 a day in July and August, which works out to roughly $742 and $1,338 for a seven-night trip. The cheapest offer in the study was $36 a day. The study covers 830 prices for 37 vehicles from 7 rental companies, checked on 4 November 2026. How much an RV costs for a week, by season
CampervanPlanet’s price study gives a clear seasonal pattern for a seven-night rental from Las Vegas for two people, before mileage packages, kitchen kits and anything paid at pick-up:
- November to March: about $742 for seven nights, or $106 a day.
- April to June: about $1,110 for seven nights, or $159 a day.
- July and August: about $1,338 for seven nights, or $191 a day.
- September and October: about $954 for seven nights, or $136 a day.
That is an 80% jump between the cheapest and the dearest stretch of the year. If you can travel in winter, the saving on a one-week trip is about $600 before you have bought a single tank of fuel.
Month by month: when it is cheapest
The month-by-month picture is more interesting than the seasons. The study shows November and December 2026 at a typical $99 a day, with the cheapest offers starting at $49 and $36. January 2027 was around $116 and February around $101, March around $116. Then prices climb: April around $146, May jumped to about $265 a day, June fell back to around $145, July about $175 and August about $224, before September settled near $140 and October near $132.
The odd one out is May. The study singles out May and August as the most expensive months, and the likely reason is demand from graduations and holiday weekends rather than weather, but that is our guess, not something the study says. The practical lesson is the same either way: look at the exact dates, not just the month, because individual weekends can be far dearer than the surrounding weeks.

Prices by type of RV
Vehicle type moves the price more than almost anything else. The study breaks Las Vegas fleets into four groups:
- Minivan camper (sleeps 2): from $36 a day, about $48 in winter and $74 in summer.
- Campervan (sleeps 2 to 5): from $43 a day, about $130 in winter and $169 in summer.
- Motorhome for 4 or 5: from $52 a day, about $81 in winter and $198 in summer.
- Large motorhome (sleeps 6 to 8): from $52 a day, about $147 in winter and $209 in summer.
Notice how the winter-to-summer gap changes. A minivan camper only rises by about $26 a day, while a motorhome for four or five more than doubles. If you are a couple, the small vehicles give you the most stable pricing. If you are a family of four, winter is where the real savings sit.

Prices by rental company, and the extras on top
CampervanPlanet lists seven companies that can be booked from Las Vegas. Their base prices differ a lot: the study shows typical daily prices from around $60 to well over $400, with the premium end belonging to Blacksford RV, which includes unlimited miles, kitchen, bedding and generator in the price, with a minimum driver age of 25. Most of the others set a minimum age of 21.
The important thing to understand is that the cheapest base price is not always the cheapest trip. Several companies sell miles in packs, for example $175 for 500 miles with one operator and $161 for 500 with another, and kitchen and bedding kits are extra. Some also charge a daily generator fee. Companies such as Indie Campers and Travellers Autobarn include unlimited miles on the listings the study captured. The study’s own worked example, for a motorhome for four or five in September 2027 with 500 miles, shows how a low base rate can end up above a higher one once miles are added.
That is why we would always price a full week, with the mileage you actually plan to drive. Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon South Rim and back is roughly 550 to 650 miles by itself, and a Zion, Bryce and Death Valley loop will go well beyond that. Fuel is a separate cost, and RVs are thirsty, so budget for it on top.

How to get the best price from Las Vegas
Travel in winter if the weather suits you. Desert nights can be cold, but days in the national parks around Las Vegas are usually pleasant, and our winter RV guide from Las Vegas covers Death Valley, Valley of Fire and the Grand Canyon in that season. Book early for school holidays and long weekends, which can push individual weeks well above the monthly typical price.
Compare companies, not just vehicles. The same style of RV costs different amounts at different brands, and so does what is included. A site that compares seven companies at once, such as CampervanPlanet for Las Vegas, saves you opening seven tabs. Our reader coupon HUNGRYTRAVELFAMILY20 takes €20 off at checkout, which is small next to the difference between companies but worth entering.
Finally, read the one-way terms if you plan to drop the RV somewhere else. The study covers Las Vegas pick-ups; one-way drop-offs to Los Angeles or Denver are priced differently at checkout, and our USA RV rental cost guide explains how fees, miles and deposits stack up. For a broader view of how rentals work around the world, see our campervan rental guide.
A realistic one-week budget
Here is a simple way to build a budget from the study. For a winter week for two in a campervan, take the typical $106 a day figure as a floor and expect to add a mileage pack or unlimited miles, kitchen and bedding kits where not included, a generator fee if you want to run one, and campground fees. Add fuel, groceries and the national park pass. A week can easily land 20 to 40 percent above the headline rental price before fuel, which is why comparing the total matters more than the per-day number.
Checklist before you book
- Enter exact dates and compare the total, not the daily rate.
- Check whether miles are included or sold in packs, and how many you will need.
- Look at kitchen kit, bedding and generator charges.
- Check the driver’s minimum age: most companies say 21, some say 25.
- Read the deposit and excess terms and what the cover excludes.
- Decide whether a one-way drop-off is worth the fee.
