Ages 10+ is the recommendation for the standard hike, so younger children are left out. Day or Night?

We usually suggest the day hike for views and the evening hike for atmosphere. In the polar night, the daytime light is blue and soft, which is beautiful but short. In spring, the longer days make the day hike more bright. Do both if you have four nights or more.

Honest Limits of the Standard Hike

The standard hike is for ages 10 and up, so a family with younger children has to look elsewhere. It is also a winter activity; do not plan it for summer. The 4 hours include the transfer, so the time on snow is shorter than it sounds. If you hope for a long, challenging mountain day, look at the advanced adventure instead.

How to Combine Two Snowshoe Tours

Four nights or more allow one day hike and one evening hike. We would do the day hike first, to learn how snowshoes feel, and the Aurora Snowshoe Hike later. Do not schedule both on the same day.

Groups are 2–8 guests, so popular dates in school holidays and around New Year can fill. Book as soon as your dates are fixed; the cancellation rule gives you room to change plans until 48 hours before departure.
