What’s inside

Four things you’ll get. Every time.

Lapland season notes

What’s happening up north right now — snow, aurora odds, which tours are peaking, which are quiet.

Hidden gems

Places we actually go back to. Small villages, side trails, cafés that don’t show up on the first page of search.

Story drafts

The travel memories we’re still writing — you get them before they hit the blog, sometimes instead of it.

Practical guides

Timing, budgets, transport, gear. The boring-but-useful stuff we wish someone had told us first.

A letter looks like this

Short. Personal. Written like a postcard, not a pitch.

No giant header image, no tracking gimmicks, no “don’t miss” urgency. Just a real update from two people who live in Lapland and travel as much as they can — and write it down.

Aurora was out over Kolari last night

Hey,

Quick one from the north. We drove out toward Kolari on Saturday because KP looked promising and the forecast was clear — it didn’t disappoint. Pulling the three practical things we’d tell a friend:

  • Kolari beats Rovaniemi for light pollution right now
  • If you’re booking an aurora tour, Tuesday–Thursday nights are noticeably quieter
  • Layer count: 4. It’s −27°C and the wind is the real story

Also — we’re pulling together the Rovaniemi winter pillar post. If there’s one thing you wish you’d known before a Lapland trip, hit reply — we read every one.

Questions

Everything else

The small print, explained like a friend would.

How often will you send?+
Once a month, usually the first Sunday. Sometimes we skip — if we don’t have anything worth saying, we’d rather not fill your inbox.
What kind of content?+
Travel notes, Lapland season updates, hidden-gem tips, and the occasional early draft of something we’re writing. No affiliate spam, no endless product lists.
Is it free?+
Yes. Always. If we ever do a paid tier we’ll make it very obvious — and the free one stays free.
What happens to my email?+
It lives in our MailPoet list on our own server — we don’t sell, share, or rent it. You can unsubscribe from the footer of any letter with one click.
