We are not wedding planners, and we want to be upfront: we have not stayed at Casa Cayuco yet, and we do not run weddings. What we can do is read the lodge’s own pages carefully and tell you what it publishes. Casa Cayuco lists ‘wedding parties’ and ‘milestone celebrations’ among the groups it hosts, and its dock, beach and jungle make a striking backdrop. Treat this as a planning guide and confirm every detail directly with the lodge. If you are thinking about a smaller romantic trip, our anniversary and proposal guide may be a better fit.

What Casa Cayuco says about weddings and groups

On its groups page, Casa Cayuco says it hosts large family vacations, yoga and wellness retreats, research teams, multi-day kayak trips, milestone celebrations, writers’ escapes, school groups and wedding parties. The lodge sleeps a maximum of 53 guests in total. A group of 30 or more can reserve the whole lodge, and groups of 20 or more are offered discounted per-person rates by custom quote — contact the lodge directly for that.

The lodge does not publish wedding packages, officiant arrangements or a price list, so we will not invent any. What it does publish is a list of settings: a long dock with a rancho and hammocks, a calm beach, a jungle pavilion used for group yoga, a lounge on the water and a brand-new guest lounge opening alongside two new bungalows from 15 December 2026.

Elopement vs a small wedding vs a full-lodge wedding

An elopement for two is the simplest: book one of the couple rooms for three nights or more and ask the lodge about arranging a private ceremony or meal. The lodge offers private dinners on your porch or at the end of the dock for special occasions, on request. A small wedding of ten to 25 guests means mixing rooms: couples in bungalows, friends in the Mono treetop cabaña, family in the villa. A full-lodge wedding for 30 or more can take over the whole property, with all meals included for everyone.

The three-night minimum, the roughly 30–35 minute scheduled boat from Bocas Town and the daily timetable all matter when you coordinate guests’ flights, so share the arrival details early.

Food, drinks and the dock

All meals are included in the room price. Breakfast, lunch and a three-course dinner come from the chef; the cuisine is predominantly plant-based with fresh local fish, plus coconut milk, nut butters and sorbet made in-house. The bar serves well and premium liquors, Argentine and Chilean wines and Panamanian beers; outside alcohol is not permitted, and beverages are charged extra. New Year’s Eve is a dock dinner with a champagne toast and fireworks, at an extra per-person charge for that date. A wedding in mid-December would sit just before that peak.

Practicalities: legal, cost and timing

We are not lawyers and cannot advise on marriage law in Panama; if you want a legally binding ceremony abroad, check the rules with Panamanian authorities and your home country. Many couples hold the legal ceremony at home and celebrate in Panama. For timing, the lodge says February to April and August to October are generally drier, and that the swell is biggest from November to April. Gratuities (12–15% of the stay), 10% hotel tax on room charges and 7% tax on excursions and beverages are extra. The lodge strongly recommends travel insurance, and the cancellation terms apply to every booking, including groups unless a custom agreement says otherwise.

What to ask the lodge before you book

  • Which dates are free for a group of your size, and can the whole lodge be reserved?
  • What options exist for a ceremony location — dock, beach or pavilion — and who can help arrange an officiant, music or photographer?
  • What is the custom group rate for 20 or more?
  • How are the group’s boat transfers handled for guests arriving on different flights?
  • What are the cancellation and deposit terms for a group booking?

How to book Casa Cayuco with our 4% discount

  1. Open Casa Cayuco’s own booking page through any of our links or buttons — Casa Cayuco4% off · HungryTravelPanama.
  2. Check that HungryTravelPanama is shown in the promo-code box before you search (type it in if it isn’t) — that code is what gives you 4% off.
  3. Choose your dates (at least three nights) and your room.
  4. Pay the 50% deposit to confirm. Cancellation: more than 60 days before arrival the deposit is refunded minus a $100 admin fee; 45–60 days, half the deposit is kept; within 45 days it is forfeited — so travel insurance is a good idea, as the lodge itself recommends.

For groups of 20 or more, ask the lodge for a custom quote before you book. We are Casa Cayuco’s partner and earn a small commission when you book with our code. Room rates are not published, so the live booking page is the only place to see them — and the lodge itself says booking direct gets the best rate.
