Eco Casita, Lodge, Surf Shack or Eco Tower? Choosing the Right Small Home at Finca de Arrieta for a Couple or a Small Family (With 5% Off)
Four of the smaller homes at Lanzarote Retreats’ off-grid Finca de Arrieta look alike on paper: one bedroom or a studio, a private kitchen, a shared pool and a beach 300 metres away. We went through the operator’s pages and the booking engine to work out who each one really suits, what the January and March week quotes were, and where the differences hide.

This guide is built from the live property pages and booking engine of Lanzarote Retreats — sleeping capacities, inclusions, distances and prices come from the operator, never invented. We have not stayed in these homes ourselves; we research them and send readers.
If you are two adults, or two adults and one child, and want a private kitchen, a terrace and a short walk to a calm beach, the smaller Finca de Arrieta homes are the best-value way into Lanzarote Retreats. Our pick for most couples is the Eco Casita5% off · code inside (separate curtained bedroom, walled garden, from about €135 per night in our samples). If you have two children, look at the Lodge5% off · code inside (king bedroom, sleeps 2 adults + 2 children) or the Eco Surf Shack5% off · code inside (open-plan studio, cheapest of the four at €887 for a January week). For views and a romantic stay, the Eco Tower5% off · code inside has 360° views but a shared kitchen and lounge area. Book at lanzaroteretreats.com and enter code HUNGRYTRAVELFAMILY5 for stays until 18 December 2026 (Christmas and New Year excluded) or HUNGRYTRAVELFAMILY275 for stays from January 2027 — 5% off either way.

What the small Finca de Arrieta homes have in common
Finca de Arrieta is Lanzarote Retreats’ off-grid eco village in Arrieta, on the north-east coast: 21 self-catering homes (yurts, stone cottages and villas) run on solar electricity with generator back-up, about 20 km from Arrecife airport and a 300 m track from the golden sand of Playa de la Garita. We have not stayed there ourselves — we live in Rovaniemi, Finland, and research these places for readers — so everything below comes from the operator’s property pages and booking engine, not from our own nights.
The four homes in this guide are the compact end of the estate. All four sleep two adults, with room for one or two children depending on the home. All four have a private kitchen (the Tower shares its kitchen and lounge area), free wifi, access to the shared solar-heated pool (13 m × 2.5 m), and a welcome pack on arrival with cava, water, milk, wine, coffee and tea. Children 17 and under stay free at Finca de Arrieta, according to the operator, which matters because the nightly rate quoted is for the adults.
The estate also has a play park, giant chess, ping-pong, donkeys, chickens and a 24/7 honesty shop, plus a Monday paella evening when available. Check-in is from 16:00, check-out at 10:00, and the Finca allows flexible arrival days with a three-night minimum (two nights if you arrive within a month). Because the estate is off-grid, the homes have no dishwashers, TVs, electric kettles or irons, and no air-conditioning or heating — the operator’s own wording is that the climate sits between 18 and 28 °C year-round.
Eco Casita: the couples’ choice with a walled garden
The Eco Casita5% off · code inside is a semi-detached 40 m² home next to the pool and chill-out area. The bedroom area has a large double bed behind a curtain, with an open-plan en-suite (WC, walk-in stone shower, sink). The living room and kitchen include a double sofa bed and fast wifi, and outside there is a private walled terrace and garden with sun loungers, a rustic swing seat, a shaded dining area and a BBQ. The operator says it sleeps a maximum of 2 adults plus 1 child or infant, with a z-bed or travel cot possible.
What we like on paper is the privacy: a gated garden rather than a shared terrace, and the pool a few steps away. What to weigh up is that it is a small home — one bedroom curtained rather than walled off — so it suits a couple, or a couple with one small child, better than parents who want a door between them and a sleeping toddler.
The booking engine quoted €942 for 10–17 January 2027 for two adults (about €135 per night), €955 for 24–31 January, €1,050 for 7–14 February and €1,052 for 7–14 March, all checked on 23 October 2026. Those are snapshots; the live calendar on lanzaroteretreats.com is the number that counts.
Lodge: the best small home for two children
The Lodge5% off · code inside is a 45 m² wood-and-stone home, refurbished in January 2026, with a separate bedroom (king-size bed, en-suite shower room and WC) and an open-plan living room with a fully fitted kitchen. The operator says it comfortably sleeps two adults plus two children, in a travel cot, a fold-up z-bed or on the single sofa beds in the living area. Outside there are steps down to a private gated terrace with sun loungers, a hammock and a BBQ.

This is the one we would pick for parents with two small children who still want a real bedroom door. The children sleep in the living area, so bedtime means a quiet evening rather than a shared lounge, but it beats a one-room studio when the kids go down at 19:30 and the adults do not.
In our samples the booking engine quoted €1,052 for 7–14 March 2027 for two adults, around €150 per night. We did not capture a January or February week for this home, so check the live calendar for your dates rather than assuming it tracks the Casita.
Eco Surf Shack: the cheapest of the four, with a studio layout
The Eco Surf Shack5% off · code inside is a 35 m² restored stone cottage laid out as a split-level studio: living area, bedroom area and kitchen in one open-plan space, with a naturally lit shower room (Balinese pebble shower) and Balinese-influenced furniture, hardwood floors and surfboards for decoration. It sleeps two adults plus up to two children or infants on a z-bed or in a travel cot. There is a private terrace with a BBQ and hammock.

The trade-off is simple: there is no separate bedroom, so if one of you goes to bed early the light and noise are shared. For an active couple heading to the beach at 09:00, or a family that spends the day outdoors, that is a small price. For a couple who read until midnight it might not be.
The booking engine quoted €887 for 10–17 January 2027 (about €127 per night), €898 for 24–31 January, €988 for 7–14 February and €990 for 7–14 March, for two adults. A January week with two adults and two children was quoted at the same €887, which fits the operator’s note that children 17 and under go free at Finca de Arrieta.

The Eco Tower5% off · code inside is the converted windmill. According to the operator it has a spacious bedroom area for two adults, with a child’s bed or travel cot for one child, a south-facing balcony and 360° views over the sea, the beach and the mountains. The detail to read carefully is that the operator lists a shared kitchen and lounge area rather than a private kitchen, so you cook and relax in a space that is not exclusively yours. It is the honeymoon-style pick: views first, kitchen second.

The quotes for two adults were €887 for 10–17 January 2027, €918 for 24–31 January, €1,051 for 7–14 February and €989 for 7–14 March, so it lands in the same range as the Surf Shack. If you want to cook breakfast in private and eat on your own terrace, the Casita or Lodge is better value for the money; if you want the view from the balcony, the Tower is the only one that offers it.
The four homes side by side
| Home | Sleeps | Layout | Kitchen | Quoted 7 nights (2 adults) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eco Casita5% off · code inside | 2 adults + 1 child | 40 m², curtained bedroom | Private | €942 (10–17 Jan), €1,052 (7–14 Mar) |
| Lodge5% off · code inside | 2 adults + 2 children | 45 m², separate king bedroom | Private | €1,052 (7–14 Mar) |
| Eco Surf Shack5% off · code inside | 2 adults + 2 children | 35 m², open-plan studio | Private | €887 (10–17 Jan), €990 (7–14 Mar) |
| Eco Tower5% off · code inside | 2 adults + 1 child | Tower, 360° views | Shared | €887 (10–17 Jan), €989 (7–14 Mar) |
All quotes are 7-night totals from the operator’s booking engine on 23 October 2026 and move with dates and demand. The pattern we see across the samples is that mid-January is the cheaper point of the winter and February and March are a little higher.
What winter feels like at the Finca
The operator’s weather table averages 18 °C in January and February and 19 °C in March, with roughly 16, 18 and 12 mm of rain respectively. For readers from Finland, that is the point: we would swap a −20 °C week in Rovaniemi for 18 °C and a golden beach in a heartbeat. But 18 °C is not beach-towel weather every day. Evenings are cool, the trade winds blow, and because the homes have no heating, a fleece and a light waterproof go in the suitcase. The shared pool is solar-heated, and the operator’s own page lists it as open all year, but heated by sun rather than a boiler, so how warm it feels depends on the day.
Off-grid also means you plan your power: no kettle, no dishwasher, no TV, and a hairdryer on request. For couples that is a feature, not a bug — most people who book these homes want quiet — but it is worth knowing before you arrive.

FAQ
Which small Finca de Arrieta home is cheapest?
In the quotes we captured on 23 October 2026, the Eco Surf Shack and the Eco Tower were both €887 for 10–17 January 2027 for two adults, the lowest of these four. Prices move with dates, so check the live calendar. Use code HUNGRYTRAVELFAMILY5 for stays until 18 December 2026 (Christmas and New Year excluded) or HUNGRYTRAVELFAMILY275 for stays from January 2027 for 5% off.
Can a family of four stay in these homes?
The Lodge and the Eco Surf Shack sleep a maximum of 2 adults plus 2 children, according to the operator, using a travel cot, z-bed or sofa beds. The Casita and the Tower are limited to 2 adults plus 1 child. Children 17 and under go free at Finca de Arrieta.
Is there air-conditioning or heating?
No. The operator describes a year-round climate of 18–28 °C and the homes are off-grid, so there is no A/C or heating. Pack a fleece for January evenings.
How far is the beach?
A 300 m track leads from the Finca down to Playa de la Garita, an 810 m golden-sand beach with calm water, a beach bar and showers, per the operator. The Finca is about 20 km from Arrecife airport.
What is the minimum stay and what time is check-in?
Three nights, or two nights if you arrive within a month, with flexible arrival days. Check-in is from 16:00 and check-out is at 10:00; early check-in or late check-out costs 50% of a nightly rate, subject to availability.
Do I need a car?
The beach is on foot and there is a bus stop on the main road by the Finca. A car helps for day trips; Lanzarote Retreats can arrange airport transfers with 48 hours’ notice, and the operator’s package includes a complimentary 5-seater car for up to 7 days.
Our Honest Final Word
We have not slept in any of these four, so we will not pretend to rank them by feel. What the operator’s pages and the booking engine tell us is that the choice is mostly about layout: a private garden and a curtained bedroom (the Casita), a real bedroom plus two children’s beds (the Lodge), the lowest price in a one-room studio (the Surf Shack), or a view in exchange for a shared kitchen (the Tower). Decide which of those compromises you can live with and the price differences are small.
