Casa Pino in Tabayesco: Our Honest Guide to Lanzarote Retreats’ Five-En-Suite Villa for Big Families

Ten adults, two extra children, five bedrooms that each have their own bathroom, and a hill village where nothing happens quickly. We went through the operator’s page, pool notes and booking-engine quotes for Casa Pino to work out who it really suits, what a winter week costs per person, and when a different big villa is the better call.

Short answer

Casa Pino is a five-bedroom villa in Tabayesco, the hamlet above Arrieta, for up to 10 adults plus two children on Z-beds, with a private 10 m × 4 m pool and an en-suite bathroom for every bedroom. The booking engine quoted €2,361 for 10–17 January 2027 and €3,201 for the same week with eight adults, which is about €400 each. The pool is not heated (it has a solar cover), so it suits people who want space, quiet and a car more than a warm swim in February. We are Lanzarote Retreats’ affiliate partner: use code HUNGRYTRAVELFAMILY5 for stays until 18 December 2026 (Christmas and New Year excluded) or HUNGRYTRAVELFAMILY275 for stays from January 2027 — 5% off either way.

Who Casa Pino Is For (and Who It Is Not)

We have not stayed at Casa Pino. Joona and Alla live in Rovaniemi, and what follows comes from the operator’s property page, its published pool and transfer notes, and the prices the booking engine quoted us in October 2026. That is enough to see the shape of the house clearly, and the shape is this: Casa Pino5% off · code inside is built for a group that wants to share one roof without sharing a bathroom. Two couples and their children, three generations, a friends’ week away, a milestone birthday. According to Lanzarote Retreats it sleeps a maximum of 10 adults in the five bedrooms, with room for up to two additional children on Z-beds.

It is less obviously right for three kinds of traveller. If you want the beach on foot, it is a 20-minute walk down to Arrieta, and the operator recommends a car. If you want a heated pool for a January swim, Casa Pino’s pool has a solar cover rather than heating. And if you are two adults looking for a cosy place for a quiet week, a villa this size is a lot of house to heat with conversation.

Tabayesco: The Hamlet Above Arrieta

Tabayesco sits in a green valley above Arrieta, in the north-east of the island. The operator describes a village of only two roads, with a tiny chapel and the village social club, and calls the surrounding hillsides of the Valley of Temisa the greenest on the island. It says the village is about 25 minutes from the airport yet feels a long way from the tourist hubs, and that the terraced fincas in the valley are still farmed by locals. The same text mentions walking routes, kestrels and Barbary partridge, and says the winding road up through the valley is well known on the cycling circuit.

Down the hill is Arrieta, the 400-inhabitant fishing village where the operator’s Finca de Arrieta eco-retreat stands, with seafront fish restaurants, a supermarket and the golden Playa de la Garita beach with its calm water. The operator puts it at a 20-minute walk from Casa Pino to the beach, a restaurant and a mojito bar, which is a lovely walk down and a slower one back up with tired children, so plan on driving at least some evenings. Jameos del Agua, Cueva de los Verdes and the Mirador del Río are all in the same part of the island, which makes Tabayesco a sensible base for a César Manrique day out.

Inside: Five En-Suite Bedrooms and Who Sleeps Where

The layout is the best argument for Casa Pino, so here it is as the operator describes it. You enter through patio doors into an open-plan dining area and kitchen. The dining table seats up to eight, the lounge has two sofas, and the kitchen is described as fully equipped for self-catering. Two bedrooms are on this level, three steps up from the kitchen and dining area: one has a double bed, patio doors straight onto the pool terrace and an en-suite wet room, and the other has two single beds, patio doors to the terrace and an en-suite shower room.

Upstairs there are three more bedrooms, each with two single beds and its own en-suite bathroom. One of them has distant sea views and a freestanding bath in the en-suite, looking across the whitewashed houses of Tabayesco towards the coast. All five bedrooms have ceiling fans. Add it up and you get one double and four twin rooms, so the house suits four couples who are happy with twins pushed together or separated, or any mix of adults and older children. The two extra children go on Z-beds, according to the operator.

  • Ground floor: double with wet room, twin with shower room, open-plan kitchen and dining, lounge.
  • Upstairs: three twin rooms, each en suite, one with a freestanding bath and sea views.
  • Good to know: the dining table seats eight, so a group of ten will use the terrace or eat in shifts.

The Pool and Terrace: An Honest Winter Verdict

The private pool is 10 m × 4 m, has corner steps for easy access and sits in a private garden. The operator is direct about the heating: it is not heated, but a solar pool cover helps hold the water temperature. For comparison, the same operator lists Finca de Arrieta and Villa Palacio as solar-heated, and Villa Las Palmitas and Finca Panorama as electrically heated. The island’s average temperature in January is 18 °C according to the operator’s weather table, and the sea is roughly 18–20 °C in winter, so an unheated pool is a brisk proposition for adults and a short one for children.

That does not make the terrace less useful. It has four sunbeds, a day bed, hammocks and outdoor seating, with views to the mountains and the volcanic landscape, and the two ground-floor bedrooms open straight onto it. The protected palm tree outside is believed to be over 100 years old, which the operator calls a distinctive feature. Our reading is that Casa Pino is a lovely place to sit outside in winter sun with a coffee and a swim for the brave, and a better pool house in April to October. If swimming in January is the point of your trip, look at the villas in section six.

What a Week Costs: Real Booking-Engine Quotes

These are quotes, not rates. We asked the booking engine for 7-night prices on 23 October 2026, and they will change with dates, availability and guests. The cheapest quote in our November-to-March samples works out to about €337 per night; the table shows what the whole week came to. The operator adds that the price shown is based on adult occupancy only and that additional charges apply for children aged 3–17, so the family totals on the live page may differ from our samples.

Dates (7 nights)Guests quotedTotalPer adult
5–12 Dec 20262 adults€1,942—
5–12 Dec 20268 adults€2,782about €348
10–17 Jan 20272 adults€2,361—
10–17 Jan 20278 adults€3,201about €400
24–31 Jan 20272 adults€2,635—
7–14 Feb 20272 adults€3,149—
14–21 Feb 20278 adults€4,014about €502
7–14 Mar 20272 adults€2,640—
14–21 Mar 20278 adults€3,616about €452

Two things stand out. The villa is much cheaper per head with a full house: eight adults in mid-January came to about €400 each, against more than €1,100 per person for a pair. And the season matters. The early December week was the cheapest quote we saw, while mid-February was the most expensive. Linen, towels, cleaning, utilities and wifi are included, according to the operator, and the 30% deposit is non-refundable, so read the cancellation terms and take out travel insurance.

Casa Pino Against the Other Big Villas

Lanzarote Retreats has several homes for ten or more people, and the right one depends on what you rank first: pool temperature, beach distance, bathrooms or price. Here is how they compare using the operator’s own details and our January quotes for the week of 10–17 January 2027 (2 adults unless stated).

The honest reading is that Casa Pino5% off · code inside and Finca Panorama5% off · code inside cost almost the same in January, and the difference is what you get for it: Casa Pino gives every bedroom its own bathroom and is closer to a beach village, while Finca Panorama has a heated pool and a hot tub but four bathrooms and a house that needs a car for everything. Boutique Beach Villa5% off · code inside is the beach-adjacent pick and costs more, and it sits in a naturist village, which some groups will love and others will want to know about first. Getting There and Getting Around

Tabayesco is roughly 25 minutes from the airport by the operator’s description, and the operator advises a car for Casa Pino. The good news is that Casa Pino is one of the homes covered by Lanzarote Retreats’ airport package: for guests in Finca de Arrieta, Fisherman’s Cottage, Casa Lili, Palacio, Casa Pino and Boutique Beach Villa the operator can arrange private return transfers together with a complimentary 5-seater car for up to 7 days. 7-seater cars are available at extra cost, prices depend on availability and group size, and the request should go in at least 48 hours before arrival. Child car seats in all sizes are free on request, so tell them the children’s ages when you book.

With ten adults you will probably want more than one car anyway, so ask about the 7-seater at the same time. Check-in is from 16:00 and check-out is at 10:00, and an early check-in or late check-out can be guaranteed for 50% of the nightly rate, subject to availability. Casa Pino has free wifi, a private kitchen, a hammock and a private garden and terrace. There is no mention of air conditioning, which the operator says most homes do not have (Arrecife Sands is the only one that does); the bedrooms have ceiling fans instead.

What We'd Book, and How to Use the Hungrytravelfamily Codes

If we were putting together a group week for January, we would look at Casa Pino5% off · code inside first for a family group of eight to ten with older children, and at Finca Panorama5% off · code inside if a heated pool and hot tub mattered more than a bathroom each. For a bigger or more mixed party we would price Villa Palacio & Yurts5% off · code inside. Our full comparison of every home for a winter week is on the Stays in Lanzarote hub, and it helps to read it before you commit.

FAQ

How many people does Casa Pino sleep?

According to Lanzarote Retreats, Casa Pino sleeps a maximum of 10 adults in five bedrooms, plus up to two additional children on Z-beds. Four bedrooms have two single beds and one has a double bed, and all five have an en-suite bathroom or wet room.

Is the pool at Casa Pino heated?

No. The operator says the 10 m × 4 m pool is not heated but has a solar pool cover that helps keep the water temperature up. If a heated pool matters, the operator lists Villa Palacio and Finca de Arrieta as solar heated, and Finca Panorama and Villa Las Palmitas as electrically heated.

Do I need a car at Casa Pino?

The operator recommends one. It is a 20-minute walk to Arrieta beach, the restaurant and the mojito bar, and Tabayesco is a hill hamlet. Casa Pino is part of the airport transfer package, which includes a free 5-seater car for up to 7 days when you book the transfer at least 48 hours before arrival.

What does Casa Pino cost for a week in winter?

In our October 2026 booking-engine samples for 2 adults, 7 nights quoted €1,942 for 5–12 December 2026, €2,361 for 10–17 January 2027, €3,149 for 7–14 February and €2,640 for 7–14 March. With eight adults, 10–17 January was €3,201. Prices change with dates, availability and guests, and children aged 3–17 may carry an additional charge, so check the live page.

What are the check-in, deposit and cancellation rules?

Check-in is from 16:00 and check-out at 10:00. The operator takes a 30% non-refundable deposit at booking with the balance due 30 days before arrival. Cancelling after the deposit forfeits it, and cancelling less than 30 days before arrival retains 100%, so the operator recommends travel insurance.

How do I get the 5% discount?

Our Honest Final Word

Casa Pino is not the villa with the warmest pool or the shortest walk to the sea, and it is not trying to be. What the operator’s page describes is a roomy, quiet five-bedroom house with five private bathrooms in a green hill village, which is exactly what many big families and friend groups are actually looking for. Our advice is to decide first whether a heated pool or a bathroom each matters more to your group, because that one choice sorts Casa Pino5% off · code inside from Finca Panorama5% off · code inside more cleanly than any price.
