What authentic means here

Sámi people are the Indigenous people of northern Scandinavia, and Sámi culture is alive today. An authentic experience is not a costume show. It is a meeting arranged with respect, with questions welcome and honest answers about what is shared and what is private. We are not Sámi, and we cannot judge authenticity from outside, so we rely on what the operator publishes and encourage you to ask questions before you book.

What the operator lists

The Spiritual Sámi Culture Experience is a four-hour private experience, ages 7+ recommended, priced at NOK 17,500 per group. It is available year round, and the listed pickup is at 10:00, with the pickup location chosen at checkout. The tour page does not list inclusions on the tour page, so ask the operator what is included before you book.

Spiritual or reindeer: which one?

The Private Reindeer Farm Visit is a longer private day of 6–7 hours at NOK 35,000 per group, with an 08:30 pickup, transport in a Mercedes minivan, snowshoe rental, and a Sámi lunch and coffee. The shorter Spiritual experience is a better fit if you have half a day. There is also a private Sámi experience with a chance of northern lights, listed at NOK 22,500 per group and 4 hours.

Being a respectful visitor

Ask before taking photos of people. Listen more than you speak. Do not treat traditions as performances, and avoid asking for things to be done for show. Thank your hosts, and buy handicrafts directly when offered. Avoid the word “Lapp” in conversation: most Sámi consider it outdated.

Who should book this

Families with children aged 7 and up, couples who want a quiet cultural day, and groups that prefer private experiences over a crowd. It is not a budget option.
