What every stay includes

The stay works almost like an all-inclusive, which is useful on an island with no restaurants next door.

• Round-trip scheduled speedboat transfer from Bocas Town (Isla Colón), about 30–35 minutes each way
• All meals: chef’s-choice breakfast, lunch and a three-course dinner, plus an afternoon snack

A couple spending two half-days on the water and one trail will pay noticeably less than a family doing something every day, so decide on your activity budget separately from the room.

A simple way to budget a stay

We use this order when planning a trip budget:

1. Get the live room rate for your dates and room (with the code applied).
2. Add 10% hotel tax.
3. Add 12–15% for staff gratuities if you plan to tip that way.
4. Add drinks, which depend on how much wine and beer you like.
5. Add two or three excursions per person at the prices above, plus 7% tax.
6. Add flights from Panama City to Bocas (about 50 minutes with Air Panama) and a night in Panama City if needed. The lodge recommends American Trade Hotel in Casco Viejo and offers its guests special rates there.

4. Confirm with the 50% deposit by card or bank transfer. Cancelling more than 60 days before check-in refunds the deposit minus a $100 admin fee; 45–60 days forfeits half the deposit; under 45 days forfeits it fully. The lodge strongly recommends travel insurance.
