From the highland town of Boquete, a bus transfer via Almirante takes around four hours including the water taxi.<\/p><p>A cheaper overland option from Panama City is the overnight bus to Almirante, leaving at 8 pm and arriving at 6 am, then a 30-minute water taxi to Bocas Town. It saves money but costs sleep, so we would not choose it straight after a transatlantic flight.<\/p><p>While waiting for your boat in Bocas Town, the lodge suggests Bibi&#8217;s on the Beach or La Buga on the water, and the bookkeeper&#8217;s office can store luggage.<\/p><p>One more tip for British travellers: tell your bank you are travelling, carry a little cash in US dollars for small purchases, and keep your passport and the lodge&#8217;s pre-arrival form handy.
