The shape of the fjord, the line of the ridge and the distance to the next valley all make sense in a way that blue twilight cannot show. That is why many people who did a polar night hike in December come back in February and feel they are on a different tour.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"s4\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_Hard_Is_It_in_Deep_Snow\"><\/span>How Hard Is It in Deep Snow?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>It is a walk, not a climb, and the guide sets the pace for the slowest person. Deep snow makes walking feel a little harder than on a packed trail because the snowshoes sink a few centimetres and you lift your feet slightly higher. If you can walk comfortably for a couple of hours at home, including some hills, you will manage. Poles help a great deal on slopes and with balance, and the guide will show you how to use them in a couple of minutes at the trailhead.<\/p><p>Tell the guide before you start if you have a bad knee or any other issue. Weather can change the character of the day: a calm, sunny February morning is wonderful, while wind and blowing snow call for extra layers.
