Summer temperatures here are notably milder than Lisbon \u2014 our evenings were cool enough that we needed a light layer outdoors.<\/p>\n<h4>04 \u2014 Peneda-Ger\u00eas National Park<\/h4>\n<p>Portugal\u2019s only national park and its best-kept secret. The park covers 700 square kilometres of granite mountains, oak forests, rivers with natural swimming pools, and ancient drove roads used by shepherds for a thousand years. If you came all this way and skipped Ger\u00eas, you\u2019d be missing the best part.
