Snow falls, and falling snow makes the moment more romantic, not less: it softens sound, catches the candlelight and looks wonderful in photographs. We can bring clear umbrellas for the heavier days, and where a sheltered option is wise we agree it in advance.<\/p><p>What winter does ask is that you are properly dressed and that the moment is short. Outdoor winter ceremonies are kept to 15 to 20 minutes, with a warm space nearby. For a proposal the cold part is often only a few minutes, with a fire or a warm room close. In all of our winter set-ups we provide what makes the time bearable: fur throws, blankets, hand warmers, heated drinks and, where it suits, a fire pit.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"s4\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cold_Flowers_and_Equipment\"><\/span>Cold, Flowers and Equipment<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Cold affects things you would not think about. Fresh flowers freeze and wilt almost immediately at \u221230 \u00b0C, which is why we use high-quality artificial and preserved flowers and arrangements made by hand in our Rovaniemi studio. Batteries drain quickly, so photographers carry spares and cold-rated gear. Phones shut down. It is not dramatic; it is just a decision made in advance so that nobody has to make it in the cold.<\/p><ol><li><strong>Check the forecast<\/strong> in the days before and again on the day.<\/li><li><strong>Agree a sheltered alternative.<\/strong> For a wedding, an indoor space at the venue or a covered lavvu tent or canopy at a wilderness site. A heavy storm in any season would move the date, and we would discuss that with you.<\/p><p>For a proposal, plan B is usually even simpler than for a wedding, because the moment is small. If the wind is wicked on the lake, we move the candles into the shelter of the trees or inside; if the aurora tour is clouded out, the guide takes you to the clearest place and the flowers and candles carry the evening; if a night is simply wrong, the buffer evening is there.
