The Westfjords are not on the way to anywhere. You have to choose them deliberately, and that\u2019s why many Ring Road itineraries skip them entirely.<\/p>\n<h4>Getting there: your options<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>By car from Reykjav\u00edk:<\/strong> The most common approach. Route 1 to Borgarnes, then Route 60 north. Total: around 4.5\u20135 hours to \u00cdsafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur (the main town) in summer. Roads inside the Westfjords are mostly paved but narrow \u2014 many inner fjord roads are still gravel F-roads.<\/li>\n<li><strong>By domestic flight:<\/strong> Eagle Air flies from Reykjav\u00edk domestic airport (RKV) to \u00cdsafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur (IFJ) in about 45 minutes.
