Even a day trip to V\u00e1gar for M\u00falafossur and S\u00f8rv\u00e1gsvatn, the lake that hangs above the ocean, changes your definition of &#8220;day trip.&#8221;<\/p><p><strong style=\"font-family:Playfair Display,serif; font-size:1.2em; color:#2D5A3D;\">Saksun and Gj\u00f3gv.<\/strong> We drive there. Saksun is a tidal lagoon ringed by mountains with a handful of turf houses; Gj\u00f3gv is a village built around a sea-filled gorge.
